Jackie "Jack" Jones, a cherished husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, peacefully departed this life on June 29, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on July 5, 1937, in Keysville, Florida, Jack's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and adventure, woven together with the threads of cherished family memories and remarkable achievements.
Jack was the beloved son of Stella Hilton and Frank Jones and was predeceased by his dear wife of 62 years, Joyce Jones, and his daughter, Jacqueline Jones. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Willford Jones, sister, Jo Ann Hephner, and his parents, Stella and Frank.
Jack's life was profoundly enriched by his surviving family, including his devoted daughter, Brenda Jones, and a large, loving extended family. He is fondly remembered by his nieces Shirley Besch, Evon Evans, Patty Jones, Debra Floyd, Cindy Floyd, and Melody Floyd; nephews Cody Floyd, Donald Floyd, Christopher Floyd, Bobby Jean Floyd, and Tommy Jr. Cimo; and great-nieces and nephews, as well as his brothers-in-law, Roy and Michael Floyd, and his niece Kayla Cimo. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he was a constant source of strength and kindness to them all.
On October 2, 1959, Jack married the love of his life, Joyce E. Floyd. Together, they raised two beautiful daughters, Brenda and Jacqueline, instilling in them the same love for family and life that defined Jack's own journey.
A devoted and hardworking man, Jack dedicated 50 years of his career to RounTree Transport and Rigging as a manager and salesman. His work ethic and commitment to his profession were admired by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Jack was a Master Mason, an honor he achieved on April 16, 2015, and remained an active member of Lodge 330 in Temple Terrace for over five decades. His commitment to his community and the values of brotherhood and charity were evident in all his endeavors.
His passions extended beyond his professional life. Jack had a deep love for horses and enjoyed sharing his enthusiasm for horseback riding with his daughters and niece Kayla. He also had a penchant for adventure, which led him and his family to a home on the Little Manatee River, a place where countless joyful memories of boating and family gatherings were made. Jack's love for travel took him across the United States, where he embraced each destination's unique offerings.
Known as a man of few words, Jack was celebrated for his generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand. His adventurous spirit, coupled with his love for dancing, brought joy to many gatherings and left an indelible mark on those who knew him.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Jack's life will be held on July 17, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Family, friends, and all whose lives Jack touched are invited to come together in remembrance of a remarkable man who lived life with love, generosity, and a zest for adventure.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that donations be made in Jack's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his spirit of giving and community support.
