It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Smith, a cherished member of our community, who left us peacefully on August 16, 2026. Born on April 1, 2013, in the warm embrace of Henry County, Jack was a beacon of joy and kindness throughout his life. Jack was the treasured son of John Smith, and his loving spirit was deeply influenced by the close-knit family that surrounded him. Although his beloved aunt Jane Smith predeceased him, her memory lived on in Jack's heart and actions, inspiring him to approach life with a gentle strength. Jack's educational journey saw him achieving a GED and pursuing some college education, always striving to learn and grow. His dedication to his work was evident in his long and fulfilling career with Sony, where he dedicated 40 years of his life. Jack’s colleagues remember him as a diligent worker and a supportive friend who could always be counted on for a smile or a word of encouragement. A heartfelt service to celebrate Jack’s life will be held on August 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Headland Methodist Church. Family, friends, and all whose lives Jack touched are invited to join us in honoring his memory and reflecting on the joy he brought into our lives. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization that was close to Jack’s heart. This esteemed institution, located in Memphis, TN, continues to offer hope and healing to countless children and families, aligning with Jack's lifelong commitment to kindness and care. As we gather to remember Jack, let us carry forward his legacy of compassion, humility, and unwavering love for those around him. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his spirit will forever light our paths.
