November 12, 1937 – May 14, 2026 Jack Mark Powell, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, peacefully concluded his journey on Earth on May 14, 2026, in the comfort of his home. Born on November 12, 1937, in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, Jack was the cherished son of Mark Leslie Powell and Marian (Fredrick) Powell, both of whom predeceased him. Jack's life was a testament to dedication, love, and service, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Jack's life was defined by his unwavering commitment to family and country. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving his nation with honor from 1955 to 1959. His years in service were a point of pride and laid the foundation for a life characterized by discipline and camaraderie. In 1957, Jack married the love of his life, Beverly Ann (Slater) Powell. Their marriage, which spanned 53 beautiful years, was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they built a life filled with warmth and laughter, nurturing a family that became Jack's greatest joy. Beverly's passing left an indelible mark on Jack, but he carried her memory with him, keeping her spirit alive in every cherished moment with their children. Jack is survived by his loving children, Cyd-Chere Bohnsack, J. Matthew Powell, and Jode (Lori) Powell, who were the pride and joy of his life. His legacy of love and kindness lives on in them, as well as in his brother Leslie (Beverly) Powell, and a host of extended family and friends. Professionally, Jack dedicated over two decades to General Casualty, where he worked from 1977 until his retirement in 2003. His colleagues remember him as a dedicated and hardworking individual who always had a kind word or a listening ear. Jack's work ethic and integrity left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to work alongside him. Jack found joy and relaxation on the golf course, spending many happy hours with his buddies, perfecting his swing and sharing stories. He was a familiar face at the VFW, where he enjoyed a glass of bourbon and spirited discussions on a wide range of topics. These gatherings were a source of great happiness and camaraderie for Jack, reflecting his love for friendship and conversation. A private funeral will be held to honor Jack's life, celebrating the legacy he leaves behind with those closest to him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the VFW and Wounded Warriors, organizations that held a special place in Jack's heart. Jack Mark Powell will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, boundless love, and indomitable spirit. Though he has departed from this world, his memory will forever remain a guiding light for those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace, reunited with his beloved Beverly, in the embrace of eternal love.
