Jack Gomer Sterling

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jack Gomer Sterling, who left us peacefully on July 30, 2026, at the age of 67, surrounded by the love and warmth of his cherished family. Jack was born on March 25, 1959, in Folsom, Pennsylvania, where he began a life filled with laughter, love, and unwavering devotion to those around him. Jack was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jack W. Sterling and Marion Sterling, who undoubtedly greeted him with open arms. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his devoted wife of 43 years, Renee Sterling. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising their daughter Lisa, and sharing in the joy of their granddaughter, Rachelle. A proud graduate of Ridley High School, Jack pursued his passion for craftsmanship by earning a welder's certificate. His career spanned over three decades in the construction industry, working ten years at John M. Sterling Drywall and dedicating another twenty years to J.J. White Construction Co. as a skilled welder and builder. Jack's colleagues remember him not only for his expertise but also for his quick wit and warm smile, which made every workday brighter. In his younger years, Jack was an enthusiastic ice hockey player, honing his skills at a local hockey camp. His adventurous spirit led him to race fuel dragsters with his brother for 15 thrilling years, creating unforgettable memories on and off the track. An avid fisherman, Jack cherished every opportunity to cast his line, finding peace and joy in nature's embrace. Jack was known for his kindness, generosity, and a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. His gift for storytelling and humor brightened even the darkest days, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Jack is survived by his loving wife Renee; his daughter Lisa; his granddaughter Rachelle; his brothers, John Sterling, Donald Sterling, Robert Schaffer, and Walter Schaffer; and his sisters, Arlene Shepanski and Barbara Sterling. Each of them carries forward the love and values Jack instilled in them. A memorial service to celebrate Jack's life will be held on September 26, 2026, at 11:30 AM at St. James Episcopal Church, located on 11th Avenue in Prospect Park, PA. Family, friends, and all whose lives Jack touched are invited to join in honoring his memory. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the hospital staff and palliative care team for their excellent care and compassion during Jack's final days. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jack's memory to an organization of your choice. Jack Gomer Sterling will forever be remembered for the love he shared, the laughter he inspired, and the countless lives he touched. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
