Jack was the beloved son of Carol and Bill Burton, both of whom he joins in eternal rest. He is survived by his devoted wife, Donna Burton, and his loving daughters, April Burton and Michelle Kent. Jack's steadfast presence will be deeply missed by his son-in-law, Charles Kent, and his cherished granddaughter, Ingrid Kent. Though Jack had no grandchildren, he left a legacy of love and wisdom that will continue to guide his family.
Jack's journey began with a noble call to serve his country. At 18, he joined the U.S. Army, where he served with distinction for 12 years. Rising to the rank of Master Sergeant, Jack's dedication and valor were evident to all who served alongside him. His military career was marked by camaraderie, bravery, and a commitment to protecting the freedoms we hold dear. Upon his honorable discharge, prompted by health challenges, Jack embarked on a new chapter of learning and achievement.
Pursuing dual degrees in engineering and welding, Jack demonstrated an unwavering passion for knowledge and craftsmanship. Though he did not complete college, his skills and work ethic carved out a successful career path, where he applied his talents with entrepreneurial spirit and ingenuity.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jack found joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid fisherman and hunter, he cherished the serenity of the great outdoors. His collection of antique guns was a testament to his appreciation for history and craftsmanship. Many evenings were spent by a campfire, where Jack would regale family and friends with captivating tales of his military experiences, his voice carrying the weight of wisdom and adventure.
In 1998, Jack married the love of his life, Carol Mills, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Their union was a testament to the enduring power of partnership and devotion, a bond that remained unbroken until their final parting.
As we honor Jack's memory, the family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who join them in remembrance. Though the funeral service will be private, Jack's spirit will continue to watch over and protect those he loved from above.
