Iva June Riggle
February 16, 1933 — October 29, 2026
It is with a mixture of sorrow and gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Iva June Riggle, who peacefully departed this world on October 29, 2026. Born on February 16, 1933, in the sun-drenched state of California, Iva was a beacon of warmth and kindness throughout her 93 years.
Iva was the beloved daughter of Rhoda and Louis Akin, who preceded her in death, along with her cherished husband, Pat, her dear daughter Debby, her brothers Albert, Jess, and Jim, and her sister Matilda. Her legacy of love and compassion continues through her brother Ben Lewis and his wife Anna, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who felt like family.
On March 19, 1954, Iva married the love of her life, Pat. Together, they shared 62 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2016. Their journey together was filled with joy, adventure, and a deep, abiding love. They welcomed their daughter Debby, who brought immeasurable joy to their lives.
Iva dedicated 30 years of her career to Vacu Dry in Sebastopol, where her dedication and work ethic were admired by colleagues and clients alike. Outside of work, she found joy in the simple pleasures and was a devoted member of a walking club, finding solace and companionship in the rhythm of her steps.
Her passions extended to the gridiron, as she was an avid football fan with a particular fondness for her beloved 49ers. Iva's adventurous spirit led her and Pat on an unforgettable road trip across the United States, discovering the unique beauty of each state. While Pat preferred the open road, Iva seized the opportunity to explore Europe with friends, often recounting the wonders she experienced with a twinkle in her eye.
Those who knew Iva will remember her for her radiant smile and her genuine, friendly demeanor. She held a special place in her heart for children and expressed her love through the thoughtful gesture of sending greeting cards for every occasion, a testament to her thoughtful and caring nature.
A celebration of Iva's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on November 19, 2026, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated caregivers at Wild Rose Senior Living, whose compassion and care provided comfort in her final days.
