It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Issac Lee Dickey, who departed from this world on March 5, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on October 16, 1960, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, Issac was a cherished soul who brought laughter and warmth into the lives of all who knew him. Issac was the beloved son of the late Lottie Mae Dickey and Issac Lee Dickey Sr., and he was predeceased by his brothers Jesse Dickey and Lonnie Ward. He grew up in a close-knit family and carried the love and lessons from his upbringing throughout his life. He is lovingly remembered by his surviving siblings, Roy Dickey, George Dickey, Albert Dickey, Robert Lee Dickey, and his dear sister, Doris Dickey. His legacy is carried forward by his two children, Micheal Dickey and Karen Dickey, who were the pride and joy of his life. Issac was also blessed with four grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who will continue to feel his love and warmth in their hearts. A proud graduate of Paul Robeson High School in the Englewood area, class of 1978, Issac went on to dedicate 30 years of service as a janitor with the Chicago Public Schools. He retired in 2010, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and an indomitable spirit that inspired all who worked alongside him. His colleagues remember him not just for his diligence, but for his infectious humor and the joy he spread wherever he went. Issac had a unique gift for making people laugh and was always the life of the party, his presence lighting up any room he entered. Issac's life will be celebrated on March 20, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at the Liberty Temple Full Gospel Church, located at 2233 West 79th Street. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Issac are invited to join us in honoring his memory. In this time of remembrance, the family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported and helped during this difficult period. Your kindness and compassion have brought comfort and solace, reminding us of the community’s strength and love. Issac Lee Dickey's journey on this earth was filled with laughter, love, and an unwavering spirit. As we say our farewells, we carry forward his legacy in our hearts, forever grateful for the moments shared and the memories created. May he rest in eternal peace, forever cherished and never forgotten.
