In Loving Memory
I’sis Charlene Lee Walker
June 30, 1998 — November 25, 2025
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved I’sis Charlene Lee Walker, who departed this earthly realm on November 25, 2025, at the age of 27. Born on June 30, 1998, on the south side of Chicago, Illinois. I’sis was a beacon of light and love, whose presence enriched the lives of all who were fortunate to know her.
I’sis was the cherished daughter of Jeanette Monaco Woods, who raised her with unwavering love and devotion. She was the treasured sister of Darius Joseph Jerome Duane Walker, and the beloved aunt to her adoring nephew, Leontae Monaco. I’sis was also a beloved stepdaughter to Daniel Nicholas Douglas, and she shared a special bond with her grandmother, Charlene Monaco Woods and her step-grandmother, Regina Denise Dow Douglas Buckner.
A proud graduate of Mojave High School, I’sis approached life with an insatiable curiosity and a passion for learning. Her love for the mysteries of the solar system was boundless, and she cherished the quiet moments spent on the patio with her mother, surrounded by nature’s beauty. I’sis found joy in the simplest of pleasures, whether she was painting, coloring, browsing through magazines, or indulging in her favorite Nickelodeon shows. Her inquisitive mind and lively spirit made her a delightful conversationalist, always eager to explore new ideas and experiences.
I’sis had a remarkable ability to touch the hearts of everyone she met. Her kind soul and radiant personality left an indelible mark on all who crossed her path. Though she faced the challenges of cerebral palsy, I’sis navigated life with grace, strength, and a positivity that inspired those around her. Her joy for life was infectious, whether she was playing with blocks, getting her hair and nails done, or enjoying outings to the movies and dining out.
Predeceased by her great-great-grandfather, Charles Monaco, her maternal grandfather, Jackie Woods Jr., and her step-grandmother, April Joy Lanks, I’sis is now reunited with her ancestors, enveloped in their eternal embrace.
I’sis’s vibrant spirit and loving nature will forever be celebrated and cherished by her family and friends. As we mourn her passing, we also honor the beautiful life she live, a life filled with love, laughter, and light.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor I’sis’s memory by performing an act of kindness in her name, spreading the same warmth and generosity that she shared so effortlessly with the world.
A private service will be held to celebrate I’sis’s life, where family and close friends will gather to remember the joy she brought into their lives. Though she is no longer with us, I’sis’s spirit and love will continue to guide us, reminding us to embrace life with the same joy and wonder that she did every day.
