Bishop Isaac Jackson Sr.

October 11, 1939 — October 12, 2026

It is with a profound sense of loss and gratitude for a life well-lived that we celebrate the life of Bishop Isaac Jackson Sr., who left this world on October 12, 2026, at the age of 87. Born in Hughes, Arkansas, on October 11, 1939, Isaac was the beloved son of Will and Angeline Jackson. He now rejoins them in eternal peace, alongside his cherished daughters Wanda Jean Jackson and Elizabeth Jackson-Garry, as well as his brothers Henry, George, James, Willie C., and Andrew Jackson, and sisters Annie Cole, Ozell Mitchell, Colence Owens, Amanda Jackson, Willie Mae Casey, Willie D. Marshall, and Vera Ann Little. Isaac's journey of faith and dedication began in his early years, educated within the nurturing environment of a Catholic school. His passion for pastoral care led him to earn an honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree in Clinical Pastoral Counseling in 2009. For fifty years, he shepherded the congregation at Jackson Memorial Church of God in Christ, leaving a legacy of spiritual leadership and community service. In 1959, Isaac moved to Wrightsville, Arkansas, where his influence extended beyond the pulpit. As one of the largest landowners in the area, he played a pivotal role in the community's development, notably providing the land for the first Dollar Store in rural Wrightsville. His devotion to spreading the gospel took him across the globe, including a memorable journey to Korea. Isaac's professional life was as dynamic as his spiritual one. He toiled with dedication at the Bicycle Factory while simultaneously running his own car mechanical business, providing for his family with tireless commitment. In 1976, he married the love of his life, Tessie Jackson, and together they embarked on a 39-year journey of love and ministry. Tessie remains to cherish his memory, along with their six sons: Iverson (Angela), Isaac Jr., David (Angela), Rickey, Michael, and Terry Raglin, and nine daughters: Brenda Jackson, Annette Lockhart-Gilmore, Lois Handberry-Jones (John), Denise (Marcus) Steen, Melinda Jackson, Jackie (Vic) Riley, Priscilla (Dietrick) Jackson-Greenlaw, Linda (John) Holmes, and Ida Raglin. His legacy lives on through his 27 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the values and love he imparted. Isaac's life was adorned with recognition from esteemed leaders, including former Governor Mike Beebe, Secretary of State Charlie Daniels, Congressman Vic Snyder, and Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola. Yet, his greatest accolades came from the lives he touched and the love he shared. Family and friends will gather to honor Isaac's extraordinary life and legacy on October 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Temple Cathedral Church of God in Christ, located at 1322 S. Pulaski Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72202. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Isaac's lifelong commitment to service and compassion. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support during this difficult time. Your kind words, cards, phone calls, and presence have been a source of great comfort. As we grieve, we find solace in the love and friendship shared with us by all who knew Bishop Isaac Jackson Sr. He will be dearly missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
