December 16, 1937 — April 7, 2026
Isa Mae Walker, a beloved matriarch who exuded warmth and kindness, peacefully transitioned from this life on April 7, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on December 16, 1937, in the welcoming embrace of Eufaula, Alabama, Isa Mae was a beacon of love, strength, and resilience, touching the lives of all who knew her.
Isa Mae was the cherished daughter of the late Johnson and Lucy Davis, who instilled in her the values of hard work, faith, and family unity. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, known affectionately as "Walker," her four brothers—Nathan Sr., L.A., G.D., and Johnson—and five sisters—Johnnie Mae, Lucille, Addie Ree, Lucy Mae, and Ethel-granddaughter, Vernovia. Their memories live on in the stories and laughter that Isa Mae shared with her family and friends.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Isa Mae is survived by her three children, Sherry, Manuel(Colethea) and Ethel; brother, Johnson; and two sisters, Mamie and Sardester. Her legacy extends to her ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who were her pride and joy. She delighted in their accomplishments and cherished every moment spent in their company.
Isa Mae's life was a testament to the power of love and community. Her home was a gathering place filled with laughter, music, and the irresistible aroma of her famous home-cooked meals. She had a gift for making everyone feel special and welcomed, and her generous spirit was a guiding light to those around her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Cantebury Nursing Home for the compassionate care provided to Isa Mae in her later years. Their kindness and dedication brought comfort and peace in her final days.
A celebration of Isa Mae Walker's life will be held on April 11, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Nero Baptist Church, located on Rutherford Road in Hurtsboro, Alabama. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and thanksgiving for a life well-lived.
Isa Mae's presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. As we say goodbye, we hold dear the memories of her laughter, her wisdom, and her unwavering love. May she rest in eternal peace.
