Irvin V. Fox, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on November 8, 1937, in the small town of Cooks, Michigan, Irvin was the beloved son of Horace and Beatrice Fox. His humble beginnings in Michigan laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work, dedication, and an unwavering love for his family. Irvin was united in marriage to Lorraine Skiba on December 8, 1956, in Pontiac, Michigan. Together, they shared a remarkable 69 years of marriage, embodying a partnership filled with love, laughter, and mutual respect. Their union was blessed with two children, Brenda Ellington and the late Steven Fox, who were the pride and joy of their lives. A man of many talents, Irvin was known for his skills as a Master Carpenter and a Heavy Equipment Operator. After relocating to Florida, he dedicated himself to the Orange County Public Schools, where he served as a Supervisor in the Grounds Department. Irvin’s work was not just a career, but a testament to his commitment and passion for creating and maintaining beautiful spaces. Beyond his professional life, Irvin had a profound love for nature and was especially passionate about growing and showing his orchids. His garden was a vibrant testament to his nurturing spirit and his keen eye for beauty. Despite being a man of few words, Irvin's kindhearted nature was always evident, most notably through his ever-present smile, which brightened the days of everyone around him. Irvin is survived by his devoted wife Lorraine, his daughter Brenda Ellington and her husband Doug, his brothers David, Bruce, Daniel, Tim, and Toby Fox, and his sister Shelley Hall. He was a proud grandfather to four granddaughters and a cherished great-grandfather to four great-grandsons. Irvin's legacy of kindness, strength, and love will continue to live on through them. Preceding him in death are his son Steven Fox, and siblings Lyle, Larry, Duane Fox, Eileen Eaglen, and Joan Soriano, who have paved the way for him in the afterlife. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Advent Health Hospice and the incredible staff who provided care and comfort during Irvin’s final days. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, honoring Irvin’s generous spirit and love for helping others. Irvin V. Fox will be missed dearly, but his memory will remain a guiding light for all who were fortunate to know and love him.
