Iris Faye Winters
March 24, 1934 — July 21, 2025
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Iris Faye Winters, who departed this world on July 21, 2025. Iris peacefully left us, surrounded by the love of her family, at the age of 91. Born on March 24, 1934, in the serene town of Santa Paula, Iris's life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and the joy of family.
Iris was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerald Winters, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage since 1971. Together, they built a loving home in Santa Paula, where they raised three devoted children. The family was marked by deep bonds and cherished traditions, reflecting the warmth and wisdom that Iris imparted. The loss of their son, John Patrick Winters, was a profound sorrow for Iris, yet she faced it with remarkable strength and grace.
A devoted mother, Iris is survived by her son, Gregory Winters, who carries forward the legacy of kindness and family values instilled by his mother. Her legacy also continues through her cherished grandchildren: Danielle Iris Alvarado, Joshua Alvarado, Jeremy Alvarado, JJ Alvarado, Katherine Winters, Windi Winters, Summer Winters, and Patrick Winters. Each of them holds dear the lessons, love, and laughter shared with their grandmother, whose wise perspective on life was a guiding light.
Iris's home was often filled with the tantalizing aromas of her cooking, a passion she pursued with love and creativity. Her kitchen was a gathering place where stories were shared, laughter echoed, and meals became memorable events. Her culinary skills were second only to her unparalleled ability to make everyone feel welcomed and cherished. Whether it was a Sunday dinner or a festive holiday gathering, Iris's home was a sanctuary of warmth and togetherness.
Beyond her family, Iris was known for her caring nature and generous spirit. She possessed an innate ability to listen and provide comfort, always offering a wise word or gentle encouragement. Her perspective on life, rich with understanding and empathy, endeared her to many who were fortunate to know her.
In accordance with Iris's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate her life. While we will gather in a more intimate setting, we know that the impact of Iris's life extends far beyond the walls of any room. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched, and her memory will forever be a source of inspiration and love.
As we bid farewell to Iris Faye Winters, we do so with a deep appreciation for the love she gave and the legacy she leaves. She was a remarkable woman whose life was a testament to the virtues of kindness and family. May her soul find peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
