Born on October 21, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas, Irene was the beloved daughter of Jose O. and Paula S. Villasana. Her upbringing was filled with warmth and the values that shaped her into the nurturing and determined woman she became. Throughout her life, Irene demonstrated unwavering commitment to her family and community. She was a dedicated civil service employee at Kelly Air Force Base, Texas, where she devoted 25 years of hard work and excellence, progressively taking on roles of increasing responsibility until her retirement. Irene's career was marked not only by her diligence but also by the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Irene's heart was always full with the love of her family. She was a devoted mother to her children: Maria C. (Daniel) Rodriguez, Juan (Beverly) Vallejo, and Leo (Denise) Vallejo. Her nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren, Christina Rodriguez, Cassie Needham, Ashley Mercer, Christopher, Mark, Zachary, Justin, Leo Angel, Kevin and Joseph Vallejo, as well as her thirteen great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Jose and Paula Villasana, her brother Martin (Isabel) Villasana, and her dear daughter Maria Theresa Vallejo. Irene is survived by her loving sisters, Andrea Estrada, Alicia Equia, Esther (Adolf) Rodriguez, who shared countless joyful memories and adventures with her. Irene's life was a testament to her passions and talents. She had a zest for life, which was evident in her love for dancing and social gatherings. Regularly seen at the local VFW, Irene enjoyed the company of friends and often brought her sisters along for nights filled with laughter and dance. Her joy for life was infectious, and she was known for hosting memorable barbeque and holiday parties that brought family and friends together. Her home was a testament to her indomitable spirit, as she often took on the challenge of home improvement projects, wielding a hammer with the same grace and determination she applied to every aspect of her life. Irene's ability to overcome obstacles was inspiring; she was a woman who saw possibilities where others saw challenges. Irene's legacy of love, strength, and dedication lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
