It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ira John Sites Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this world peacefully on July 13, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on January 11, 1943, in Canton, Ohio, Ira lived a life filled with adventure, love, and dedication to family. Ira was the cherished son of Clara and George Sites, who preceded him in death, along with his siblings Fannie Smith, Swinton Sites, Thaymer Sites, and George William Sites. Despite the loss of his loved ones, Ira's spirit remained resilient and warmly embraced the joys of life. On December 8, 1960, Ira married the love of his life, Eloise, in Donaldsonville, Georgia. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, spanning over six decades. Together, they built a life rich with memories and surrounded by the love of their family. Ira's legacy lives on through his beloved wife, Eloise, and their devoted children: daughter Sherry Massey, sons Ira John Sites Jr. and his wife Tonya, and Edward Sites. Ira was also a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren and a great-grandfather to nineteen great-grandchildren who were the light of his life and brought him endless joy and pride. Among his many passions, Ira had a profound love for gold prospecting and building motorcycles. These hobbies were not just pastimes but a reflection of his adventurous spirit and creative mind. Whether he was sifting through streams in search of a glimmer or meticulously crafting the perfect ride, Ira approached each endeavor with enthusiasm and skill. Ira was a man of quiet strength, with a heart as expansive as the horizons he explored. His warmth and kindness were felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His family, including his brother Lowell Zane Sites and wife Cree, and brother-in-law Wayne Ellis, will forever cherish the memories of a man who lived life to the fullest. As we remember Ira, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and endless adventures. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Ira's memory to a charity of your choice, honoring his generous spirit and love for helping others. Ira John Sites Sr. will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all those whose lives he touched. His legacy of love and adventure will continue to inspire and guide his family for generations to come.
