In Loving Memory of Iola Ruth Moore December 12, 1953 – February 20, 2026 It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we commemorate the remarkable life of Iola Ruth Moore, who passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026. Born on December 12, 1953, in the quaint town of Eat, Ruth was a beacon of strength and resilience, cherished for her free spirit and boundless love. A daughter of the late Scott Williams Sr. and Willie Mae Williams, Ruth was the embodiment of grace and fortitude. She was preceded in death by her dear parents and her siblings: Mrs. Tilda Thomas, Ms. Eva Brown, Ms. Gylvernia Dancy, Mr. Joe Lewis Williams, and Mr. Clinton Williams. Though her departure leaves a deep void, the legacy she built continues to thrive in those she leaves behind. Ruth's journey in education was illustrious; she graduated as the valedictorian from Peter G. Appling High School in 1971, a testament to her dedication and intellect. Throughout her life, she remained a lifelong learner, imparting wisdom and compassion to everyone she encountered. Her greatest joy was her family, and she devoted her life to nurturing and loving them. She leaves behind two devoted sons, Richard “Tony” Moore and Clinton Derenzo “Reno” Moore, who carry forward her spirit and values. Her legacy extends to 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, each a testament to her love and influence. Her nurturing spirit and guidance will forever be cherished by her surviving siblings: Scott Williams Jr. (Sarah) of Macon, Georgia; Angelina Hayles of Knoxville, Tennessee; and Robert Willis Williams of Buford, Georgia. Alongside them are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended relatives who were touched by her warmth and kindness. Ruth was a free spirit — beautifully unique, strong-willed, and deeply human. Despite personal struggles, she remained resilient, much like cherry blossoms that bloom boldly after harsh winters. Her life was a testament to authenticity, as she embraced each day with love and an indomitable spirit. Her life will be celebrated on March 7, 2026, at 11:00 PM at Bentley and Sons Funeral Home, located at 3077 Pio Nono Avenue, Macon, GA 31206. We invite all who knew and loved Ruth to join us in honoring her life, sharing memories, and offering support to one another in this time of reflection and remembrance. As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, we find solace in the knowledge that she lives on in the hearts of those she touched. Ruth's legacy is one of love, resilience, and the courage to live freely and authentically. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever guide and inspire us. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
