January 12, 1952 — April 10, 2026

In Loving Memory of Ina Patrick It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Ina Patrick, a devoted wife, cherished mother, beloved grandmother, and treasured friend. Ina left this world peacefully on April 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 74 years old. Ina was born on January 12, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, to her loving parents, Ina and Leroy Freeland. She was raised with her siblings in a home filled with warmth and affection. Her early education was spent in the Carver schools, where she graduated in 1973. Ina's passion for beauty and style led her to pursue a career in cosmetology, earning her license from the Cannella School of Hair Design. Her talent and creativity shone through in everything she touched, and she brought joy to those who sat in her chair. In February 1972, Ina married her soulmate, Jewell Patrick. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure, welcoming into their family their beloved daughters, Beatrice and Nikita, and sons, Jewell Patrick, Demetrius Moore, and Jerrell Moore. Ina's nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren—Roy Young, Roshinda Young, Roshaunda Young, Tilecia Terry, and Delores Allen (fondly known as Can Can)—as well as her great-grandchildren, Roshanda Dabney, Oshei Gerron, and Peter Green, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Ina's generosity and kind-hearted nature were evident in the way she lived her life. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel loved and welcomed, a testament to her enduring spirit and compassionate soul. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Tilly Freeland, sister-in-law Shirley Macfee, and brothers Leroy and James Freeland, whom she now joins in eternal rest. Her legacy continues through her surviving family: her devoted husband, Jewell Patrick, her daughters and sons, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Linda Mars (Anthony Mars), Donald Patrick (Barbara Patrick), and Ike Patrick (Vergie Patrick). Ina had a zest for life that was truly infectious. She adored music and dancing, finding joy and expression in every note and step. Her prowess on roller skates was legendary, earning her the affectionate title of "cold-blooded" among those who watched in awe. A celebration of Ina's life will be held on April 18, 2026, at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. The service will begin at 10:00 AM, bringing together those who knew and loved her to honor a life well-lived and a spirit that will forever inspire. Ina Patrick touched the lives of all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience. Her memory will remain in our hearts, a beacon of light and love guiding us through the days ahead.
