Imogene Hill
April 21, 1940 — March 20, 2026
It is with profound sadness and yet a deep sense of gratitude for a life well-lived, that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Imogene Hill, on March 20, 2026. Imogene was born on April 21, 1940, in Pennington Gap, Virginia, and departed this world after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
Imogene was the devoted daughter of Flora Thorpe, who instilled in her a sense of compassion and resilience that she carried throughout her 85 years. She was predeceased by her first husband, Elmer Ray Fisher, with whom she shared a loving marriage from January 9, 1961, until his untimely passing in 1973. Together, they created a warm and nurturing home in Hancock County, Tennessee, where they raised their four children, who were the light of Imogene's life.
In 1975, Imogene found love again and remarried Tom Hill, who also predeceased her. With Tom by her side, Imogene continued to embrace life with grace and strength, expanding her family with cherished memories and the birth of grandchildren who would become the center of her world.
Imogene is survived by her children, Jeffrey Fisher, Melissa Dorsey, Paul Fisher, and Rhonda Brown (Matthew), who were blessed to call her Mom and to learn from her example of unwavering love and dedication. Her grandchildren, Jeremy Begley, Blake Price, Kelsey Sherfey, Lindsay Burgess, and Haley Brown, held a special place in her heart, and she took immense joy in their laughter and accomplishments. Imogene was also blessed with several great-grandchildren, who brought her joy in her later years.
Known for her kindness and gentle spirit, Imogene was a beacon of love to those around her. Her family was her pride and joy, and she dedicated her life to their happiness and well-being. Her legacy will live on in the lives of her children and grandchildren, who will carry forward her teachings of compassion and generosity.
In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Imogene's life and her journey to eternal peace. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the members of Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time.
As we bid farewell to Imogene Hill, we hold her memory close, remembering the warmth of her smile and the strength of her spirit. She has left an indelible mark on all who knew her, and her presence will be deeply missed.
We invite those who wish to honor Imogene’s memory to do so by spreading kindness in the world, a tribute that she would have cherished. May she rest in eternal peace, and may her spirit continue to guide and inspire us all.
