Born on October 3, 1929, in Kannapolis, North Carolina, Ida was the cherished daughter of Bessie Allen Scott and Daniel Jenkins Scott. Her life was a testament to unwavering devotion, love, and kindness.
Growing up in a tight-knit family, Ida was predeceased by her beloved parents, her brother Troy Scott, and her dear children, daughter Susan Hill and son Tony Stamey. She is survived by her loving children, Shirley Setzer and Pamela Stamey, and her devoted brother, Roy Scott. Grandchildren Travis Setzer, Amanda Setzer, and Bobby Lee Hatchcock.
four great-grandchildren Christian Setzer, William Setzer, Allie Marie Setzer, Brooklyn Hatchcock and Justice Hatchcock one great-great grandson, Isaiah Cash Setzer.
Ida worked at Cannon Mills for many years, later continuing her career at Terry Products. Her work ethic and dedication were admired by her colleagues and friends. Beyond her professional life, Ida was a deeply spiritual woman, finding solace and community in her long-time membership at Shady Brook Baptist Church. In her later years, she dedicated her time to the church pantry, where her warmth and generosity touched many lives.
While Ida's life was often centered around the care of her family, particularly her second child, who was born with cerebral palsy, she found joy in her early years through square dancing. Her friends remember her as a good friend and confidant, always offering a listening ear and a kind heart.
Ida's legacy of love and compassion continues to inspire those who knew her. , her nurturing spirit lives on in her family and community. Her life was a testament to the power of love and resilience.
