Obituary of a Beloved Husband and Father It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished husband, father, and grandfather, known to many simply as "Husband and Father," who left us peacefully on June 8, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on September 30, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, he breathed his last at home, enveloped in the love of his family, just as he had lived his life. Predeceased by his loving parents, Roland and Mary Bauer, he is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Debbie, whom he married on August 4, 1984. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support, creating a family that was the pride and joy of his heart. He leaves behind his beloved children—Tim, Matt, and late Lauren, Craig (Tara), Chris (Kristen), Jaymie who will forever cherish the memories of their father’s gentle guidance and unwavering love. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, twelve bright lights that brought him immense joy and pride. His family extended beyond his immediate circle, including treasured cousins Barb (John), Carol, Mike (Rosalyn), Late Jack, and Karen, who shared countless cherished moments. His warmth and humor were constants, and his quick wit and ever-present smile could light up any room. He had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued, often sharing a well-timed joke to lift spirits. Educated at Evergreen Park High School, he furthered his passion for learning with a master’s degree in education. For over three decades, he dedicated himself to nurturing young minds as a teacher with the Chicago Board of Education and at Morine Valley College. His teaching career was marked by a special affinity for Math and History, where he relished the opportunity to work with gifted children, inspiring them to reach their full potential. Outside the classroom, his love for life was exemplified in his hobbies. A passionate golfer, he found tranquility and camaraderie on the greens. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, each memory a testament to his loving nature and the joy he found in family. A private ceremony will be held on June 15, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St. Julie's Church. Though the service is private, the impact of his life is widely felt, and his memory will continue to be a guiding light for all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to a charity of your choice, celebrating his generous spirit and commitment to helping others. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we remember him as a beacon of love and laughter, whose life was a testament to the power of kindness and the enduring strength of family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him.
