Born in the quiet town of Pioch, Nevada, on September 29, 1938, Howard was the cherished son of Francis Loraine Gray and Mary Ellen Williams. His life was a testament to love, dedication, and the simple joys of community and family. Howard's journey began in Orem, Utah, where he graduated from Orem High School in 1957. His education laid the foundation for a life filled with hard work and devotion to his craft. Howard wore many hats throughout his career, most notably as a barber and a truck driver. Known for his impeccable skill with scissors, his sons and grandsons fondly remember the heartfelt tradition of receiving the best haircuts from him — always free of charge. On November 25, 2005, Howard married the love of his life, Kathleen Crandall Rands, in Payson, Utah. Their union was a beautiful testament to enduring love, lasting nearly 21 years. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, support, and shared adventures. Howard was a man of great faith, and his life was deeply enriched by his active membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His community knew him for his kindness, humility, and unwavering commitment to serving others. Beyond his professional and spiritual life, Howard had a passion for bowling. An avid bowler, he played on numerous teams and was recognized with several awards for his skill and sportsmanship. His love for the game was matched only by the joy he found in the camaraderie it fostered. Howard's life will be celebrated on September 25, 2026, at 9:30 AM, at the Bell Tower Funeral Home, located at 3398 E Jenalan Ave., Post Falls, Idaho, 83854. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Howard are invited to gather and honor his memory.
