Our Love Song
Sitting in the park watching you work out, day after day. I pursued; I conquered. A love song was about to be made. Too young and set in our ways, lack of trust and fear of going crazy, our love song soon begins to fade. Back and forth we went, asking God for a little more faith, for sanity's sake. All four kids finally grown and gone, a new love song is ready to be made. Pursuing those things we'd always said we'd like to explore one day. Moving to Memphis has been so great; concerts, comedy shows, and many lakes in this place. You know we could fish all day. Nothing beats the six times we've gone to see Kem and he commanded all men to take off their shirt, oh my gosh, you always obeyed. In the midst of a filled arena, with lights and cameras focused on you, our love song is still being made. Then April 23, 2025, we heard those words, Pancreatic Cancer like a weather alert interrupting our love song as it's being made. Your response still leaves me amazed! "The Lord has blessed me with 65 good years and if I don't see another, I'm okay." All I could say in response was that He had allowed 38 of those years to be spent with me! Listen, how our love song is still being made. It was TIME, that God GRACED us with, another year of creating memories for such a time as this! I like how you greet me every morning after I awake, I smell your presence in our bedroom and simply say, good morning, Baby it's a new day and I'm okay! Listen, I hear our love song still being played!!!!
