It is with profound sadness and gentle reflection that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Howard Quis Jefferson, who departed this life on April 22, 2026, while resting at home in Detroit, Michigan. Born on March 5, 1970, Howard lived a life rich with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends. Howard was the cherished son of the late Mary Jefferson and Howard Quis Jefferson Sr., who predeceased him and undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms into eternity. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Jefferson. Their story began on June 17, 1984, in Detroit, when they exchanged vows that would stand the test of time, creating a legacy of love and family that spans generations. Howard's life was a tapestry woven with education, dedication, and achievement. He was a proud graduate of Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Michigan, and furthered his education by obtaining both his diploma and bachelor’s degree. His commitment to learning and personal growth was evident throughout his life and inspired those around him. A devoted family man, Howard is survived by his siblings, Albert Jefferson and Ashley Jefferson, who will forever cherish his memory. His close friends, Nico Johnson and Herney Johnson, will remember him as a steadfast companion whose warmth and humor brightened their days. Howard’s legacy lives on through his four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of joy and pride for him. His love and guidance will continue to influence their lives and future generations. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at DMC Hospital for their compassionate efforts in caring for Howard. Their kindness and professionalism provided comfort during a difficult time. A service to celebrate Howard’s life will be held on May 5, 2026, at 12:30 PM at Mercy Funeral Home, located at 627 E 9 Mile Rd, Hazel Park, MI 48030. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Howard are invited to join in honoring a life well-lived. Howard Quis Jefferson was a beacon of love and strength, whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew him. While his physical journey has ended, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he loved. May he rest in peace, embraced by the love that surrounds him eternally.
