Hilda Mendoza Acevedo, a cherished wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on April 22, 1960, in the warm embrace of Colima Michoacana, Mexico, Hilda's journey through life was marked by love, resilience, and an unwavering spirit. Hilda faced a courageous battle with a hip fracture and lung cancer, ultimately finding solace in hospice care. Throughout her life, she exemplified strength and grace, touching the lives of many with her kindness and compassion. For 45 beautiful years, Hilda was the devoted wife of Arturo Mendoza. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, raising six wonderful children who were the pride and joy of Hilda’s life: Lorena, Julissa, Elma, Luis, Roman, and Santiago Acevedo Barajas. Her legacy lives on through them, as well as the countless friends and extended family who were fortunate enough to know her. Hilda's family has expressed their heartfelt farewell with a special message: "Adiós, Hilda. Tu tiempo con nosotros puede haber llegado a su fin, pero tu amor, bondad y hermosos recuerdos vivirán para siempre. Tocaste muchos corazones y dejaste una parte de ti en cada persona que te conoció. Aunque deseamos haber tenido más tiempo, estamos agradecidos por cada momento que compartimos. Nunca serás olvidada, y tu memoria siempre será atesorada. Descansa en paz, Hilda. Puede que ya no podamos verte, pero nunca dejarás de estar en nuestros corazones. Por siempre en nuestros corazones, por siempre amada." A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Hilda's life and commemorate the profound impact she had on those around her. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to a charitable organization of choice, as a tribute to Hilda’s spirit of giving and caring. Hilda Mendoza Acevedo will be deeply missed but never forgotten. As we say goodbye, we hold dear the memories of her life, which was a testament to love, family, and perseverance. May she rest in eternal peace.
