Herta Frieda Kücks Heine
June 21, 1930 — August 1, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Herta Heine, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully on July 15, 2026, at the age of 96. Herta was born on June 21, 1930, in the serene town of Brake-Steddorf, Germany, to Johann Hinrich Kücks and Maria Katharina Fitschen Kücks.
Herta's life was a vibrant tapestry of love, resilience, and dedication. She was predeceased by her loving parents, her devoted husband of 58 years, Herbert Hermann Heine, and her siblings, Hans Hinrich Kücks, Herman Klaus Kücks, AnnaMaria Kücks, and Frieda Kücks Meklo. Her journey from Germany to the United States marked the beginning of a new chapter, where she would leave an indelible mark on all who knew her.
On December 7, 1955, Herta arrived in the United States with dreams of a new life. It was on the dance floor in Franklin Square, NY, that she met the love of her life, Herbert. They married on April 21, 1958, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories in Quakertown and Flemington, New Jersey. Their union was blessed with two wonderful children, Maria Katharina Heine Hutchison and Bernhard Christian Heine, who carry forward her legacy of kindness and strength.
Herta's career was as diverse and rich as her life experiences. She began working at Dugans Bakery in Queens, NY, where her meticulous nature and dedication shone. Later, she showcased her exceptional skills as a parachute seamstress and packer at the Chute Shop in Flemington, NJ, and subsequently at Magnetics and Controls in Rosemont, NJ. Her precision and craftsmanship were further exemplified when she joined The Center for Educational Advancement (CEA) in 1994. There, she dedicated herself to producing hairnets with unparalleled passion and skill, continuing her work until her final days.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Herta was a devoted gardener, finding joy and peace in nurturing life from the soil. Her garden was a reflection of her soul—vibrant, nurturing, and filled with beauty. She also loved to dance with her husband Herbert. They went to Viennese Balls all over the New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York area. Along with the many festivals and fairs in places like Helen, GA, Kitchener, Canada and Hunter Mtn, NY.
Herta leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication in her surviving family: her daughter Maria and son Bernhard (Silke) Marshfield, MA, Niece Renate (Joe) Rao of Putnam Valley, NY, Nephew John(Marie) Meklo, Mineola, NY, Richard Meklo, Brodheadsville, PA and grandchildren, Daniel Patrick Heine, DC and Lisa Marie Heine, NC.
As we remember Herta, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and remarkable achievements. Her warmth, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family and work will be forever remembered by those whose lives she touched.
