Heriberto Gonzalez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on February 12, 1937, in McAllen, Texas, Heriberto lived a life filled with love, laughter, and kindness that touched all who knew him. Heriberto was a devoted husband to his late wife, Ofelia Zepeda Gonzalez, with whom he shared 58 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a family centered on love and unity, raising six children and creating a legacy that would include 57 cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known for his warm smile and infectious humor, Heriberto had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued in his presence. His kindness and generosity were unparalleled, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of those fortunate enough to have known him. A skilled mechanic, Heriberto spent his career working at Goodyear General Tires, where he was respected and admired by colleagues and clients alike. Beyond his professional life, he had a passion for working on electronics, playing his beloved accordions, and indulging in Western TV shows. He and Ofelia shared a love for visiting casinos and gathering with friends, creating joyous memories that will be treasured always. Heriberto is predeceased by his parents, Demetrius and Ester Gonzalez, his wife Ofelia, their son Johnny Gonzalez, and granddaughter Marie Franco. He leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor his memory: children Delia (Israel) Martinez, Heriberto Jr. (Juanita) Gonzalez, Annie (David) Gonzales, Noey (David) Franco, and Bobby Gonzalez, along with his five brothers, six sisters, and an extended family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate Heriberto’s life will be held on October 2, 2026, at St. Anthony Claret Church, located at 2494 S. Chestnut, Fresno, CA 93725, beginning at 8:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Heriberto. The Gonzalez family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff at Fresno PACE by Innovative Integrated Health for their compassionate care. Heriberto’s memory will forever remain in our hearts, as his laughter and love continue to inspire and guide us. "Forever in our Hearts."
