Herbert Wayne Carlton, a cherished husband, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on May 20, 2026, at the age of 51. Born on November 25, 1974, in Lakeland, Florida, Herbert was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who knew him. He left this world surrounded by a loving circle of family, friends, and his loyal dog, Daisy.
Herbert was the beloved son of Linda Carlton and the late Roy Carlton, whose legacy of hard work and integrity Herbert carried forward with both pride and grace. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Amy L. Carlton, his devoted mother Linda Carlton, his sister Karen L. Carlton and her husband Scott, and his treasured fur baby, Daisy.
A man of remarkable skill and dedication, Herbert graduated from Lakeland Christian School in 1993 before honing his talents at Travis Technical Center, where he earned a Master ASE Mechanic degree in 1996. His career spanned 25 years at Walt Disney World, where he served as a Transportation and Maintenance Technician. Herbert's colleagues often remarked on his exceptional ability to fix anything—a talent he shared generously, always willing to lend a helping hand.
Herbert's life was a testament to the values instilled in him by his father. He took great pride in maintaining the family ranch, tending to the land and livestock with the same meticulous care and attention he applied to all facets of his life. His work on the ranch was not just a tribute to his father but also a source of joy and fulfillment for Herbert, who found peace and purpose in the rhythms of rural life.
Known for his kindness and unwavering willingness to help others, Herbert touched the lives of many with his gentle spirit and genuine compassion. His friends and family will forever remember his quiet strength, his laughter, and the warmth of his smile.
Herbert's passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his legacy of love and kindness will endure. He was a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and gave selflessly, leaving the world a better place for having known him.
A celebration of Herbert's life will be held at a later date, where friends and family will gather to honor his memory and share stories of the man who meant so much to so many.
Rest in peace, dear Herbert. You will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
