It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Herbert Pratt, affectionately known as Kenneth, who departed this world on March 19, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on November 6, 1945, in the vibrant land of Guyana, Herbert's journey through life was marked by a spirit of adventure, a heart full of love, and a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.
Herbert was the beloved son of Frank and Elaine Pratt. He was predeceased by his cherished wife, Daisy Veronica Cuant, with whom he shared a deep and enduring love. He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Brother Roland Pratt and Sisters Pinky and Shirley, along with Cousin Ovid Williams and many others who have gone before him.
Herbert leaves behind a tapestry of loved ones who will carry forward his memory. He is survived by his devoted nephew, Jimmy Pratt, and niece, Paulette Pratt, of French Guiana, as well as his dear nieces, Kennicia, Lisa, Amika, and many more who were close to his heart. He was the treasured nephew of Ulric Ferreira, Alfred Pereira, Godfrey Pereira, Florence Pereira, Enid Pereira, and Marette Pereira, surrounded by a large circle of extended family.
His cousins, Ierera, Hudalph Pereira, Kim, Jonette, Oaia Pratt, Danicla Pratt, and Angelina Meredith, along with numerous other relatives and friends, including the dear Joylen, will miss his presence deeply. Herbert's life was enriched by 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.
Herbert's life was a testament to his adventurous spirit. He found profound joy in sailing and trekking through the Amazon rainforest, pursuits that not only fulfilled his sense of wonder but also showcased his love for the natural world. In honor of his adventurous heart, the family requests that donations be made to support such endeavors, ensuring that future generations can experience the beauty and wonder that Herbert cherished so deeply.
As we reflect on Herbert's life, we remember a man who lived with an open heart and an adventurous soul. His legacy is one of love, kindness, and the courage to explore the unknown. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit sails on in the stories we share, the memories we cherish, and the love that binds us together.
A service to celebrate Herbert's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor a life well-lived and a man well-loved. Until then, we hold him close in our hearts, knowing that his journey, while now on a different plane, continues to inspire us all.
