May 26, 1953 — April 23, 2026
Henry Paul Brak, a cherished brother, devoted friend, and a beacon of warmth to all who had the privilege of knowing him, quietly departed this world on April 23, 2026, in Greer, South Carolina, following a short illness. Born on May 26, 1953, in f Glen Dale, West Virginia, Henry's life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and an unwavering spirit that touched the hearts of many.
Theson of Mabel and Bronislaw Brak, Henry was raised in a family that cherished togetherness and the simple joys of life. Though he was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother Benny and sister Theresa, Henry's life was enriched by the bonds he shared with his surviving siblings, Anna Urich, Mary Alice Niehaus, Frances Myers, and Judith Boothe. His companion, Ricardo Castro, stood by him as a pillar of strength and love.
Henry embraced life with an open heart and a zest for knowledge, graduating from John Marshall High School before pursuing higher education at West Liberty College and West Virginia University. His academic journey culminated in a career as a claims adjuster, a role in which he excelled while working across Ohio, Texas, and Georgia. His meticulous nature and empathetic approach in his profession left an indelible mark on colleagues and clients alike.
Although Henry never had children of his own, he found immense joy and fulfillment in the lives of his nieces and nephews. His caring spirit and infectious smile had the remarkable ability to make everyone he encountered feel special and valued—a gift he shared freely and abundantly.
Henry's life, though devoid of formal accolades and grand ceremonies, was a testament to the power of kindness and the impact of a gentle soul. He requested no services, a humble wish that reflects the simplicity and grace with which he lived his life. Those who knew him, however, carry forward his legacy in the stories they share, the memories they cherish, and the kindness they spread in his honor.
As we bid farewell to Henry Paul Brak, we remember a man who, in his quiet and unassuming way, enriched the lives of many. His memory will forever be a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to walk alongside him on his journey.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in Henry's memory, for it is in these moments of compassion that his spirit truly lives on.
