August 20, 1958 — July 11, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Henry Louis Saterfield, who left this world peacefully on July 11, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. Born on August 20, 1958, in Los Angeles, California, Henry's life was a testament to resilience, faith, and a commitment to serving others. Henry was the cherished son of Henry and Marlene Saterfield, who preceded him in death, along with his beloved sisters Alisa and Tonette, and dear nephew and niece, Ronald Copeland and Marlene Windom. Despite these deep losses, Henry lived a life full of love and dedication to his family and community. He is survived by his two children, David and Rebecca Saterfield, who were his pride and joy. He also leaves behind his brothers, Keith and Kevin Saterfield, and sisters, Margaret Oates, Tasha Walls, and Ellen Eberhart. Their memories with Henry are filled with laughter, shared adventures, and the steadfast support he consistently offered. Henry's academic journey began in the Los Angeles Unified School District, where he laid a strong educational foundation. He went on to earn an Associate Degree in Theology, a testament to his deep spirituality and lifelong quest for understanding. From 1977 to 1982, Henry honorably served his country in the United States Army, with postings in Germany, California, and Georgia. His military service was marked by dedication and a strong sense of duty, qualities that he carried into his civilian life. After his military service, Henry found his calling in working with the Boys and Girls Club of America and serving as a Youth Minister in his hometown community. His ability to connect with young people and inspire them to reach their potential was unparalleled, and his legacy in this field will be long remembered. An outdoorsman at heart, Henry found true joy in fishing, a passion that took him to serene lakes and rivers, where he found peace and reflection. In addition, he enjoyed working with cars, a hobby that allowed him to blend technical skills with creativity. A celebration of Henry's life will be held on July 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Williams Mortuary, located at 2945 O Tobacco Rd., Hephzibah, GA 30815. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived and a man deeply loved. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his neighbor, Mr. John, and the surrounding neighbors who offered their support and kindness during Henry's time of need. Their compassion and assistance will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Henry Louis Saterfield, ensuring his spirit of generosity continues to touch lives.
