Henry "Hank" Richer

November 4, 1935 — October 7, 2026

Henry "Hank" Richer, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and innovative spirit, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on November 4, 1935, in Loogootee, Indiana, Hank was the cherished son of Jacob and Anna (Miller). Hank was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Celesta Mae, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. Their union, which began on November 15, 1955, was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they raised three daughters: Kaye Barton, Angel Sparkman, and the late Janice Wuerfel. A creative engineer and designer by trade, Hank owned and operated a successful sign shop, where he crafted large and neon signs that brightened the landscapes of companies like Planet Hollywood at Disney and Hard Rock Cafe. His contributions to the sign industry were significant, and he was respected as a leader and innovator among his peers. Beyond his professional achievements, Hank was an outdoorsman at heart. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, with a competitive spirit that drove him to catch the most fish on his beloved fishing trips. He delighted in sharing his secret weapon—his homemade jigs—with friends and family. Hunting was another passion that Hank and Celesta shared, often embarking on memorable trips to Colorado and beyond, bringing home deer, elk, and even more exotic game like bear, caribou, moose, and pronghorn sheep. In addition to his daughters Kaye (Glenn) Barton and Angel (Randy) Sparkman, Hank leaves behind his treasured grandchildren: Benjamin Barton, Jonathan (Melanie) Barton, Zachary (Lauren) Barton, and Anditia (Andi) Sparkman. His great-grandchildren, Joseph, Asher, Ryder, and Brea, were a source of immense joy and pride, and Hank's legacy will live on through them. Hank's life will be celebrated on November 7, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the Landmark Clubhouse, located at 1620 Gulf Coast Dr., Naples, FL 34110. The family extends a special invitation to all who knew Hank to join them in celebrating his remarkable life. Please contact Kaye or Angel for the passcode required to enter the service location. Hank's warmth, creativity, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
