In Loving Memory of Helen Kaye Moore
It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Helen Kaye Moore, who departed this world peacefully on May 22, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on March 21, 1941, in the warm embrace of Grapeland, Texas, Helen was the beloved daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Lena Moore.
Helen was a beacon of resilience and grace, having grown up as the sixth child in a family that valued community and hard work. She left school as a third grader to assist the elders in the Germany Community, demonstrating a maturity and sense of responsibility well beyond her years. Undeterred by the challenges she faced, Helen later returned to education, proudly earning her GED, a testament to her tenacity and love for learning.
Throughout her life, Helen was an avid reader, a passionate gardener, and a spectacular cook. Her kitchen was filled with warmth, laughter, and the irresistible aroma of home-cooked meals that drew family and friends together. She was not merely the matriarch of her family; she was its guiding light, instilling values of love, unity, and perseverance in everyone she touched.
Though deeply missed by her family, Helen is reunited in eternal rest with her parents, her cherished daughter Cathy White Bailey, and her beloved siblings, Charles Moore, Claudia Mae Moore, Lee Ethel Moore, Maime LaVerne Edwards, Eula Mae Wingham, and Clara Bell Houston. Her legacy continues to thrive through her surviving children, Jeffry White and Tequicha Price, her grandchildren Shakaila Dillard (Brandon), Brandy White, Brenda Mitchell (Aundra), Reshard White, and Teshuna Lockhart, as well as her 13 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Helen's love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. She delighted in their achievements and supported them through every challenge. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support left an indelible mark on her family, who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
A celebration of Helen's remarkable life will be held on June 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, located at 933 County Road 1655, Grapeland, TX 75844. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a woman whose life was defined by her boundless love and selfless dedication to others.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to everyone for their prayers, support, and encouragement during this difficult time. Special thanks are extended to Barkley’s Mortuary and Pastor Thacker, along with the members of New Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, for their generous support and kindness.
In celebrating Helen's life, we honor the extraordinary woman she was and the profound impact she had on those who knew her. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones, and her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
