Helen Henry Rogge

Helen Henry Rogge, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away suddenly on July 4, 2026, at the age of 97. Born on November 20, 1928, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, Helen was the loving daughter of Albert and Helen Henry. Her life was a testament to kindness, energy, and a genuine love for all those she encountered. Helen was a proud graduate of Ole Miss, where she left an indelible mark as a member of the Tri Delta sorority, an enthusiastic cheerleader, and was crowned Miss Ole Miss in 1949. Her time at university was not only filled with accomplishments but also marked the beginning of a lifetime of service and dedication to her community. On July 24, 1965, Helen married the love of her life, Edward Rogge, in Jackson, Mississippi. Together, they built a life centered on family and service, blessed with the joys of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward, her parents Albert and Helen Henry, her son Jerry Tiblier, her sister Frances Henry, and her brother Barry Henry. She is survived by her devoted children: daughter Kay Harvard and her husband Lee, son Joe Tiblier and his wife Mary Beth, and daughter Ruth Fletcher and her husband Spence. Helen's legacy of love extends to her 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, who will forever hold her memory dear. For over 40 years, Helen was a dedicated member of St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church in Atlanta, Georgia. Her faith was a guiding light, and she served in numerous capacities, including the altar and flower guilds, the Daughters of the King, and as a Sunday school teacher. Her contributions enriched the lives of many, and her spirit of giving was a hallmark of her character. Helen was also a proud member of the Colonial Dames and the Daughters of the Revolution, serving as past president of the Colonial Dames while living in Atlanta. An avid tennis player, she was a member of ALTA for many years, playing well into her 80s. Her love for gardening and flowers was evident in her beautiful yard in Dunwoody, where she spent countless hours nurturing blooms. She was instrumental in enhancing her community's beauty, notably by planting cherry trees along North Peachtree Road. Helen's warmth and ability to make everyone feel special were unmatched. Her enthusiasm for life and her genuine care for others left an indelible impact on all who knew her. A service celebrating Helen's remarkable life will be held at St. Andrew’s Cathedral on Capitol Street on August 22, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Andrew’s Cathedral in Jackson, Mississippi, in honor of Helen's enduring legacy of faith and service. Helen Henry Rogge's life was a tapestry of love, joy, and unwavering dedication to her family, friends, and community. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched.
