May 18, 1943 — May 28, 2026

Helen Colleen Blakley Anderson, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026, at the age of 83, at 3 Angels AFH, embraced by the loving care of her cherished caregiver, Josephine. Born on May 18, 1943, to Merrill and Katherine Blakley, Helen's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, creativity, and dedication. Helen's journey began in the welcoming community of Burien, where she graduated from Highline High School in 1962. Her early years were marked by her work at The IceCreamery in 5 Corners, serving up more than just sweet treats—she served up warmth and laughter that touched everyone she met. Her marriage to Doug in October 1963 marked the start of a wonderful partnership filled with adventures and shared dreams. Together, they created a home brimming with love, laughter, and the joyous barks of many beloved dogs. A devoted mother to her sons, Merrill John, and the late Mike, Helen's nurturing spirit and boundless love were the cornerstones of her family. Her dedication extended beyond her home, as she embarked on a career at Sears downtown, where she commuted by bus, crafting beautiful Afghans to keep warm during her journey. Later, she brought her talents to Blakley Brothers as a secretary, where she was known for her efficiency and warm demeanor. Helen's creativity knew no bounds. An avid knitter and crocheter, she crafted beautiful pieces that wrapped loved ones in warmth and comfort. Her passion for decorating turned every occasion into a beautifully adorned celebration, and her home was a reflection of the changing seasons, each room lovingly curated with her artistic touch. Her smile was infectious, and her quick wit could brighten the darkest of days, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Helen leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, which lives on in her surviving family: her devoted husband of over 53 years, Doug; her beloved sons, Merrill John and Mike also deceased. She is survived by her dear sister, Kay and a host of cousins who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Though her sisters Connie and Merline and son Mike have predeceased her, their spirits remain intertwined with hers in eternal peace. In this time of reflection, the family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers at 3 Angels Adult Family Home for their unwavering dedication and compassion. Josephine and Analyn, your kindness and care have left an indelible mark on our hearts, and we are forever grateful. Helen Colleen Blakley Anderson was a woman of infinite grace and boundless love. Her life was a testament to the power of creativity, family, and friendship, and she leaves behind a legacy of beauty and joy that will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever illuminate our lives.
