With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Heather Nicole, a beloved mother, sister, daughter, and friend, who departed this world on July 21, 2026, at the age of 46. Born on October 22, 1979, in Mobile, Alabama, Heather was a shining light to all who knew her, embodying a life of strength, joy, and unwavering faith.
Heather was the cherished daughter of Brenda and Steve Gowdy, and the late Robin Bell and Charlie Summerford. Her life was a beautiful tapestry of love and laughter, woven with the threads of her family and friends. She leaves behind her devoted children, Gunner Michael Daniel and Madison Nicole Alexander, who were her pride and joy. Her loving companion, Atlas McCoy, affectionately known as "Copper," will miss her gentle cuddles and playful spirit.
Heather's educational journey took her through Falkville High School and Foley High School, culminating in her graduation from CAPPS College with a degree as a medical assistant. Her career was marked by her compassionate care for others, reflecting her innate kindness and dedication.
Her vibrant personality was most evident in her passions. Gifted with the voice of an angel, Heather's love for singing was profound, bringing joy to those around her. Her crafting skills were exceptional, as she poured love into every handmade gift she created for her loved ones.
Heather's family was her heart. She is survived by her brother, Robbie Bell (Jennifer), and her sister, Angie Tomlin (Greg). Her extended family, including aunts Paula Wilson (Sparky), Julie Harville, Wanda Bartlett (Howard), Pam Bryson (David), and Rebecca Worthy, and uncles Ron Bell (Dana), Ken Bell, and David Bell, were a source of joy and support. Her legacy continues through her nephews, Baley Bell and Wyatt Tomlin (Karsi), and nieces, Britni Valentour (Garrett) and Abbey Grace Tomlin, along with her five grandchildren, two great nephews, four great nieces, and numerous cousins and loved ones.
Heather is predeceased by her grandparents, Paul and Miriam Harville, Floyd Bell, and Barbara Vines Duke, who welcome her into eternal peace.
Her life will be celebrated on July 29, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Peck's Funeral Home, located at 1600 Hwy 31 SW, Hartselle, AL 35640. In honor of Heather's generous spirit, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
Heather's infectious laugh and sparkling blue eyes will be fondly remembered, as will her bold, unapologetic love for life and her Savior. As her family beautifully expressed, "Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure; she is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure."
In the spirit of Proverbs 31:25, Heather was truly "clothed with strength and dignity," and she embraced each day with laughter and grace.
May her soul rest in peace, and may her memory live on eternally in the hearts of those who loved her.
