Hattie Taylor, a beacon of warmth and love, was born on March 5, 1948, in the sunny heart of Orlando, Florida. She peacefully departed from this world on July 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of her adoring family. Hattie was the cherished daughter of Willie and Lucille Edwards, who predeceased her, alongside her beloved siblings, Samuel, James, Robert, J.L., Willie Edwards, and Nellie Swan. She was survived by siblings Emma Brookins Barner, Mary Ann Cannon, Evelyn Allen, Doris James, Freddie Lee Edwards, and G.W. Edwards. A devoted wife, Hattie was united in marriage to Joseph Taylor, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and companionship. Their union was blessed with three wonderful children: Joseph Taylor Jr., Shonda Luke, and Felicia Lawton, who all continue to carry forward her legacy of kindness and compassion. Hattie was also a proud grandmother to eleven doting grandchildren Martravious Luke, Tyqavious Luke , Tayvaris Luke, Markel Luke, Marques Luke, Takari Luke, Cherish Luke, Ziya Lawton, Zyshonti Lawton, Davion Span, Davon Span and four great-grandchildren, each of whom was a source of immense joy and pride for her. Hattie was deeply rooted in her faith, being an active member of the Rock Hill Progressive Church of God. Her commitment to her community and her unwavering faith were constants in her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her. Her memory will be honored with a service on August 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Mitchell's Funeral Home, located at 501 Fairvilla Rd, Orlando, FL 32808. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched so many lives with her gentle spirit and loving heart. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Hattie Taylor. Her legacy of generosity and love will continue to thrive through these acts of kindness. Hattie Taylor's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and family. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of all she touched.

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I took His hand when I heard Him call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah, yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much, Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and peace to thee, God wanted me now; He set me free.
