June 19, 1937 — September 30, 2013

In loving memory of Hattie Eldeen Davis Jennings, who graced this world on June 19, 1937, in the charming city of Augusta, Georgia. Born to the late Emma Mae Williams, Hattie's life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering faith. She departed this life on September 30, 2013, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by all who knew her. Hattie was united in holy matrimony to the late John Riley Davis Sr., and together they nurtured a loving family. She was a devoted and nurturing mother to her five children: Tia, Jay, Crystal, Natasha, and Mark. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and her love for them knew no bounds. Education was important to Hattie, and she attended Fuller Normal Industrial School in Greenville, North Carolina. She devoted 38 years of her life to JC Penny's as a Records Bookkeeper, where her dedication and work ethic were evident to all who had the privilege of working alongside her. Even after her retirement, Hattie’s industrious spirit never waned, and she continued to work until the age of 84, proving that her passion for life was immeasurable. A woman of profound faith, Hattie's love for God and her church family was unwavering. As a respected Deaconess appointed by the Fire Baptized Holiness Church, Hattie's dedication to her faith was evident in every aspect of her life. No matter where she worshipped, her service was marked by loyalty and devotion. Hattie was a beacon of kindness, compassion, and warmth, touching the lives of many with her gentle spirit. In her later years, she was lovingly cared for by her niece and nephew, Tricia and Victor Hickson, in Long Island, New York. Their devotion to her care was a testament to the deep bonds of family that Hattie always held dear. She is survived by her beloved children: Tia, Jay, and Mark, all residing in Baltimore; Crystal, who lives in California; and Natasha of Reisterstown. Her legacy continues through her siblings, David Conolly, Sr. of the Cayman Islands, and Oilinger (Eugenia) Conolly of Glen Burnie, along with her nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also fondly remembered by her sister-in-law, Patricia Davis of Glen Burnie, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Hattie's presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit and the joy she brought into the lives of others will always be remembered. Her memory will be honored in a service on October 12, 2013, at 11:30 AM at Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church, located at 350 Blanchard Rd, North Augusta, SC. This celebration of her life will be a time to reflect on the profound impact she made on the lives of those fortunate enough to have known her. Though she has departed from this world, Hattie's light continues to shine in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love beyond measure.
