It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hasson McNeil, who left this world on July 1, 2026, at the age of 41. Born on August 9, 1984, in Brooklyn, New York, Hasson was a shining light in the lives of all who knew him. His journey through life was marked by his infectious laughter, creativity, and a deep love for his family and passions. Hasson was the beloved son of the late Elinor Champion and Tyrone Champion. He is predeceased by his cherished brother, Dereck McNeil. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his adored son, Dane McNeil, who was the pride and joy of his life. He is also survived by his devoted brothers, Darryl, Joseph, Richard, Courtney McNeil, and Tyrone and William Champion, and his loving sisters, Rickena, Rekeya, and Renee McNeil. Hasson's large extended family, including numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, will forever remember him for his warm heart and boundless energy. A talented musician, Hasson had a rare gift for writing music and composing beats that could move the soul. His love for music was only rivaled by his passion for sports and dancing, where he found joy and camaraderie. Known for his quick wit and comedic flair, Hasson had an incredible ability to light up a room and bring smiles to everyone around him. His presence was truly the life of any party, leaving lasting memories filled with laughter and joy. A private funeral service will be held for Hasson on July 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM. In honoring his memory, the family wishes for a celebration of his life to be held in the hearts of those who loved him, cherishing the moments shared and the love he freely gave. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Hasson's memory to a charity of choice or a local music program, reflecting his passion for music and community. Hasson McNeil will be profoundly missed but will forever hold a special place in our hearts. His spirit will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
