In Loving Memory

Harvy Reed Jr.
April 29, 1960 — February 11, 2026
With heavy hearts and profound respect, we announce the passing of Harvy Reed Jr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Harvy departed this world peacefully on February 11, 2026, at the age of 65. He was born on April 29, 1960, in Mobile, Alabama, to the late Harry and Ida Reed. Harvy's life was a testament to love, commitment, and the joy of family and community.
Harvy grew up in a nurturing home that instilled in him the values of faith, compassion, and hard work. He attended Citronelle High School, where he laid the foundation for a life marked by dedication and service. He was a proud member and Vice President of the Pastor Aide Board at Little Rock Baptist Church, where he committed countless hours to nurturing the spiritual lives of others. Harvy's life was one of service, not only to his church but also to his family and community.
Harvy shared an inspiring and enduring love with his beloved wife, Kawanes Jackson Reed. Together, they created a beautiful family, blessing the world with their children: Mr. and Mrs. Mechella Craig, Maranda Pearson, Mariyah Pearson, Nicole Dees, Shakeria Moten, Kiara Manzy, Sicari Manzy, Kawanes Bellamy, Lakeisha, and Larry Bellamy. Harvy’s legacy continues through his 15 treasured grandchildren, who were the light of his life, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who will continue to hold his memory dear.
In remembering Harvy, we celebrate a life well-lived. He found joy in the simple pleasures—spending time with family, casting a line at his favorite fishing spot, and serving his church community. His laughter, kindness, and unwavering faith left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Harvy was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Ida Reed, his brothers, Frankie Lee Reed and Jamel Pendelton, and his beloved aunts, Daisy Dees and Pearly Johnson. Though we grieve his passing, we find comfort in knowing he is reunited with loved ones who have gone before him.
The family extends a heartfelt invitation to join them in celebrating Harvy’s life on February 21, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Little Rock Baptist Church, located at 11685 U.S. 43 Axis, Alabama 36505. It is a time to honor a man whose life was a blessing to so many, whose memory will forever be a treasure.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Little Rock Baptist Church Pastor Aide Board, an organization Harvy was deeply passionate about.
As we bid farewell to Harvy, we echo the words from his family: "Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure." May his soul rest in eternal peace, wrapped in the love of the Almighty, until we meet again.
