Harvey Eugene Moritz

October 2, 1960 — October 21, 2026

Harvey Eugene Moritz, of Chapman Kansas, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on October 21, 2026. Born on October 2, 1960, in Wichita, Kansas, Harvey was the son of James Eugene Moritz and Frances Darlene (Decker) Moritz. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Brenda Sue (Moritz) Manning, who he held dear in his heart. Harvey graduated from Riley County High School in Riley, Kansas, as part of the class of 1978. Harvey's life was a testament to his strong morals and values. Known for his word and his integrity, he treated everyone with honesty and respect. He was the kind of person people could always count on; hard working, humble, and selflessness. Harvey was truly one of a kind and left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He is survived by his wife, Stacy (Munson) Moritz, who remained his unwavering anchor and constant companion through his six-year battle. Harvey was a loving father to his daughters, Kera Moreland (Nick) Milford, KS. and Casey Moritz (Steven Bolt) New York, NY.; as well as a cherished stepfather to Tanner Rohr (Emma) Olathe, KS. and Macie Culp (Chris) Berryton, KS. His legacy will live on through his seven grandchildren Kennedy and Lily Moreland; Theo Bolt; Lucy, Jack, and Charlie Rohr; and Lainey Culp, who lovingly called him "Papa Harv". Sisters Marilyn Ferris (Monty)Wamego KS., Loretta Fisher (Joe), and Sandra Barbee (Curtis), brother-in-law Dave Manning all of Chapman KS, Harvey was rarely one to sit still; always busy working on something. He especially enjoyed being outside either boating, attending car shows, detailing cars or fishing. He had a special love for classic cars, especially his 1969 Stingray Corvette. But his greatness passion was spending time with his family and friends or attending his grandchildren's events. Visitation will be Thursday, October 29, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Londeen's Funeral Home, 206 W 5th Street, Chapman, KS. Harvey would be right at home surrounded by Chiefs or K-State gear. A service honoring Harvey will be held on October 30, 2026, at 10:30 am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, located at 218 N Washington St, Junction City, Kansas. Harvey wouldn't want to wear a suit, so you shouldn't either; dressy causal is acceptable. Family and friends are invited to gather for a luncheon following the service at the Milford Lake Conference Center, 3710 Farnum Creek Rd, Milford KS. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Harvey's memory to the Scleroderma Research Foundation, an organization dear to his heart. The foundation is located in San Francisco, CA, and carries the mission of supporting search to find a cure. Or donations can be made to the Harvey Moritz Foundation at Intrust Bank 121 N Washington St, Junction City KS. 66441. "Rest in peace Papa Harv, you put up a courageous fight while loving your family with everything you had. You will be greatly missed and always loved. What an amazing legacy you left behind."
