In loving memory, we celebrate the life of Harvey Christian, a man whose presence brought warmth and laughter to those fortunate enough to know him. Harvey peacefully passed away at the age of 97 on March 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with lung cancer, a challenge faced with the same resilience and humor that defined his long and fulfilling life.
Born on June 11, 1928, in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, Harvey was the beloved son of Cleve and Sally Christian. From an early age, Harvey exhibited a zest for life that would become his hallmark. He was a proud graduate of Lone Wolf High School in 1946, a place where he first honed his quick wit and developed a fondness for good-natured pranks, attributes that would endear him to so many throughout his life.
In 1955, Harvey married the love of his life, Shirley May, on a crisp December 29th. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, filled with shared laughter and mutual support. Shirley remains his devoted partner, carrying forward the joyful memories of their life together.
Harvey dedicated his professional life to farming in the Chickasha area, a career that spanned over six decades until his retirement in 2017. His work was not just a means of livelihood but a labor of love, reflecting his steadfast commitment to hard work and his deep connection to the land. As a farmer, Harvey was known for his innovation and diligence, qualities that garnered him respect and admiration from his community.
A longtime member of the Elks Club, Harvey relished the camaraderie and fellowship that came with membership. It was here that his sharp sense of humor and devilish grin found a welcoming audience, as he delighted in sharing a good joke or planning a lighthearted prank. His ability to find joy and bring laughter to everyday moments was a gift cherished by all who knew him.
Harvey's legacy is one of love, laughter, and resilience. He faced life's challenges with a bold spirit and an unwavering smile. His infectious laughter and ability to see the humor in any situation will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
In accordance with his wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Harvey's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, a cause dear to Harvey's heart.
Harvey Christian's memory will forever be a source of inspiration and joy. His light continues to shine brightly through the cherished memories of his beloved wife, Shirley, and all those whose lives he touched. Rest in peace, dear Harvey, knowing that your laughter echoes on in the hearts of those who loved you.
