Harry William Schlagel

June 5, 1955 — April 19, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Harry William Schlagel, who left this world gently in his sleep on April 19, 2026. Born on June 5, 1955, in the storied city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Harry lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community. Harry was the cherished son of the late Harry and Ann Schlagel, who instilled in him the values of kindness, resilience, and an unwavering sense of humor that served him and those around him throughout his life. He was the beloved brother to Billy Walker and James Schlagel, with whom he shared countless adventures and memories. A proud graduate of Peabody High School in the class of 1972, Harry carried the friendships and lessons from his school days throughout his journey. Known for his quick wit and infectious laughter, Harry approached life with an enthusiasm and zest that inspired all who had the privilege of knowing him. Harry's passion for sports was evident in his love for attending games, a pastime that brought him immense joy and provided cherished moments with friends and family. Whether cheering from the stands or discussing the latest game at his local American Legion Club, Harry found community and camaraderie in these gatherings. Above all, Harry was a devoted father and grandfather. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his sons, Brian D. Schlagel, married to Leslie A. Schlagel, and Kevin W. Schlagel. His pride and joy were his five grandchildren: Aiden, Ashlyn, Bryson, Dylan, and Olivia. Each of them carries forward his spirit, humor, and love of life. Though a private funeral ceremony will be held, we invite all who knew and loved Harry to keep him in their hearts and remember the joy and laughter he brought into the world. His family shares this special message: "You will be forever in our hearts." As we bid farewell to Harry William Schlagel, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man who will be dearly missed yet fondly remembered by all who knew him. May his memory continue to be a blessing and a reminder of the beauty of a life filled with love, laughter, and enduring family bonds.
