In Loving Memory

HARRY G.GLADNEY
March 18, 1950 — July 17, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Harry G. Gladney, who left this world on July 17, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on March 18, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, Harry graced this world with his warmth, humor, and unwavering spirit. He was a beloved son to Louise and Harry Gladney Sr., both of whom he joins in eternal rest.
Harry's life was a tapestry of love, resilience, and joy woven through his relationships and community. Predeceased by his cherished children, Purish, Steven, and Nicole Scott, along with his siblings Charlotte Brooks, Fredrick, and Thomas Gladney, Harry faced life’s trials with courage and grace.
A dedicated family man, Harry is survived by his loving daughters, Shantaye Gladney and Erica Nolan, and sons Shaun Gladney and Tarrish Williams. His family extended to his dear sisters, Donna Gladney of Springfield, IL, Sandra Lynn Garrett, and Stephanie Beasley, who shared countless memories with him. His Aunt Mildred Webers, nephews Tremayne (Cherell) Garrett and Mario Garrett, and nieces Erika Brooks of Champaign, IL, Karen, and Nija Merchant, along with his many adored grandchildren, mourn his loss but celebrate the legacy he leaves behind.
Harry's friendships were as dear to him as family. A special thanks to his best friends, Mr. Eddie and Ms. Betts, whose compassionate care and companionship enriched his life immeasurably.
Educated in the St. Louis public school system, Harry embarked on a career that saw him work for various security companies. However, it was at Harrah’s Casino, as a Guest Host, where Harry truly found his calling. There, he thrived, engaging warmly with everyone who walked through the doors of the Casino Buffet Restaurant, sharing stories and laughter until his well-earned retirement.
Harry's love for his grandchildren was boundless, and he took immense pride in each of their accomplishments. His extended family of cousins, friends, and community members will fondly remember him as a man who spread joy and kindness wherever he went.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Harry G. Gladney, to continue his legacy of generosity and compassion.
May we all find comfort in our cherished memories, and may Harry rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
