In Loving Memory

Harriet Turner
November 1, 1941 — October 12, 2026
Harriet Turner, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at Cypress Village on October 12, 2026, at the age of 84. Born in 1941 in New York, Harriet moved to Jacksonville Beach at an early age where she grew up as a “beach girl”. She graduated from Fletcher High School in 1959 and pursued further education at Jacksonville University. She married Robert Turner in 1963, started a family four years later, and called many places home during the following 20 years travelling across the globe. They eventually settled back in Jax Beach where she found her calling in reclaiming and flipping furniture, a career that allowed her to transform the old into something new and beautiful. Her enthusiasm for restoration mirrored her own life's journey, filled with challenge, renewal, and joy.
For more than 30 years, Harriet was a dedicated member of the Beach Babes and other Huguenot tennis teams playing competitive matches until she was 82 years old, when ALS first challenged her mobility. Her commitment to the sport was matched by her fondness for cats, rescuing countless furry friends fortunate enough to wander into her life. Her beach home was always open to friends and family where she loved hosting game nights and other friendly gatherings, and her casual warmth and fun-loving spirit made guests feel welcome and at ease.
Preceded in death by her parents Harriet and Herbert Patten, her husband Robert Turner, and their son Marcus Turner, Harriet's legacy lives on through her surviving son, Rob (Cindy) Turner. She also leaves behind her dear siblings, Connie Perkins Langen and John (Nancy) Deam, who shared the many joys and challenges of her rich and full life.
In accordance with her wishes, a private Celebration of Life will be held in November. For those who wish to honor Harriet’s memory, donations can be made to her favorite charity, the Jacksonville Humane Society.
Harriet Turner will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her. Her spirit will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
Fun, frolic and glee are there, the will to do and the soul to dare.
