In loving memory of Harriet Pronteau, who passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, at the age of 54, after a courageous battle with cancer. Harriet was born on October 25, 1971, in Thompson, Manitoba, to parents Edith Bittern and Joseph Pronteau, both of whom she joins in eternal rest alongside her siblings Nicholas and Pauline Pronteau. Harriet’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and community spirit. For 39 cherished years, she shared a loving relationship with her devoted husband, Phillip Keeper, a former boxer. Together, they built a family filled with laughter and warmth, raising six wonderful children: Patrick, James, Clarissa, Phillip Jr., Chantel, and Bridgette Keeper. Harriet’s legacy lives on in them and in her beloved grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy. Harriet’s professional life was marked by dedication and hard work. She devoted 33 years to the housekeeping profession, leaving a lasting impression at the Northern Inn, Mystery Lake, and most recently at the local hospital, where she spent over two decades. Her commitment to her work was only surpassed by her commitment to her community and family. With a heart full of kindness, Harriet was always ready to lend a helping hand or share a smile. She had a unique gift for storytelling, often weaving thrilling tales that would both entertain and delight anyone within earshot. Her joyful spirit and infectious laughter will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Beyond her professional and family life, Harriet found great pleasure in attending fundraiser bingos, a testament to her generous spirit and love for her community. These gatherings were more than just games; they were opportunities for Harriet to support loved ones and connect with friends. Harriet is survived by her loving husband, Phillip; her children, Patrick, James, Clarissa, Phillip Jr., Chantel, and Bridgette; and her siblings, Bruce, Dennis, Glen, Belinda, Roselie, and Suzanne Pronteau. She leaves behind a wide circle of friends, family, and colleagues who were touched by her warmth and generosity. A service to celebrate Harriet’s life will be held on February 23, 2026, at 4:00 PM at St. Lawrence Hall, located at 114 Cree Road in Thompson, Manitoba. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the hospital staff who provided exceptional care and support during Harriet’s final months, and to all friends, family, and colleagues for their unwavering love and respect. Harriet’s spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her, and her memory will forever remain a beacon of love and strength. May she rest in peace.
