Harold Wilson

Harold Wilson, a steadfast pillar of his community and a cherished member of his family, passed away on July 30, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on June 30, 1946, in Henderson, Kentucky, Harold was the beloved son of Plomer C. Wilson and Nellie Mae (Crisp) Wilson. He was surrounded by love throughout his life, both from family and friends who cherished his steadfast dedication and warm spirit. A graduate of Trigg County High School in 1964, Harold proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969, where he was assigned to HHC 59th Ord. Gp. After completing his military service, Harold embarked on a distinguished 33-year career with the United States Postal Service, retiring in 2001. He was also a devoted farmer, a passion that earned him the title of Trigg County Farmer of the Year in 2006. Harold married the love of his life, Beverly Ann Simmons Wilson, on June 23, 1973. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and commitment, even though Beverly passed away on their first wedding anniversary. Despite this profound loss, Harold found strength and joy in his family, caring deeply for his son Kevin Wilson, daughter Lesli Wilson Hatley and her husband Kevin, and his grandchildren, Bradey Wilson, Nathan Hatley, and Natalie Hatley, who affectionately knew him as "Popaw." Throughout his life, Harold was deeply involved in his community. A longtime member of Roaring Spring Christian Church, he served as an elder, sharing his faith and wisdom. Harold’s dedication extended to his role in the Cadiz Masonic Lodge No. 121, where he held positions as past master and past district deputy grand master. His commitment to heritage and community service was further demonstrated by his membership in the Sons of the American Revolution and his active participation with the Trigg County Crimestoppers organization, where he served on the board of directors. Harold's life was marked by a deep love for the land, his community, and most of all, his family. He was known for his caring nature, tending to his mother after the passing of his father and always being a source of strength and guidance for his children and grandchildren. He found joy in hunting and working the land that he loved so dearly. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Alive Hospice for their compassionate care and to Caroline Stewart, his devoted local caregiver. In memory of Harold, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice. As we bid farewell to a truly remarkable man, we are reminded of Harold's enduring legacy of love, service, and community spirit. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
