The beloved son of Patrick and Monica King, Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his son Patrick King, and his siblings Patrick King, Geraldine Talbot, and Marion Doucette. Despite these losses, Harold's spirit remained unbroken, finding solace and joy in the family he cherished. For 57 wonderful years, Harold was the devoted husband of Geraldine King. Together, they built a life rich in love and laughter, raising their daughter Pamela Madden, who along with her husband Christopher Madden, survives him. Harold is also survived by his siblings, Gerald King and Betty Zine, sister-in-law Gail Searle-Spratt, Mary Johnston and her husband James and many nieces & nephews who, like so many others, will deeply miss his quick wit and infectious smile. Harold proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1968. His dedication to service continued throughout his life, with a 25-year career as a truck driver with the Local 25 Teamsters Union, followed by 20 years with the U.S. Postal Service. Outside of work, Harold was an active member of the James J. Rice Post #28, the Weymouth Elks, and the South Quincy Bocce Club. He was a loyal fan of all New England sports teams and could often be found cheering them on from the comfort of his home. Harold had a rare gift for making everyone feel welcome, using his humor to light up any room. His legacy of kindness and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. A service to celebrate Harold’s life will be held on September 13, 2026, 2:00-4:00 at the Hamel-Lydon Chapel, located at 650 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA 02170.
