Harold Dotson

February 1, 1960 — June 19, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Harold Dotson, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Harold left this world on June 19, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. Born on February 1, 1960, in Dallas, Texas, Harold embodied the spirit of his hometown—always determined, kind-hearted, and unyieldingly loyal. Harold was the cherished son of the late Harold Dotson Sr. and Shirley Yvonne Dotson. His parents' enduring values of hard work and dedication shaped him into the man he became. These qualities shone brightly throughout his life, particularly in his career as a master mechanic. Harold dedicated his life to solving automotive problems, often going above and beyond for those in need, never expecting anything in return. His hands were perpetually busy, always ready to lend a helping hand and get engines running smoothly again. In 1982, Harold married the love of his life, Judy Dotson, in a beautiful ceremony in their beloved Dallas. For 44 years, they shared a life filled with love, laughter, and mutual support. Together, they built a family that was the center of Harold's world, raising three wonderful children—Jason Hulen, Misti Stidham, and Harold Dotson III. Harold's heart was further warmed by the birth of his granddaughter, Lila Stidham, who held a special place in his life. Harold was a man of many passions. He was a proud Masonic member from 2006, following in his father's footsteps and finding camaraderie and purpose in the fellowship. In his leisure time, Harold could often be found playing pool with friends, enjoying the thrill of the race track, or masterfully playing Knock, a game at which he excelled. His infectious laugh and witty sense of humor were legendary, leaving a trail of smiles wherever he went. Despite his reserved nature, Harold's warmth and kindness shone through to those he held dear. His strength and work ethic were unmatched, and he was always ready to do anything for his family and friends. To know Harold was to know a man of integrity, compassion, and unwavering love. A service to celebrate Harold's life will be held on June 26, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Charles W Smith and Sons, located at 2925 5th Street, Sachse, TX 75048. Following the service, those who wish to pay their final respects are invited to attend the burial at Grove Hill Cemetery, 3920 Samuel Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228, at 2:00 PM. The Dotson family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who loved and supported Harold throughout his life. Your kindness and friendship meant the world to him, and your presence now offers comfort during this time of sorrow. Harold's legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him. As we say goodbye, let us remember Harold for the joy he brought into our lives, the steadfast love he shared, and the indelible mark he has left on our hearts.
