It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harold Dewayne Harris, who departed this world on March 21, 2026, at the age of 56. Harold passed away peacefully at his home in Cartersville, Georgia, surrounded by the love of his cherished family and friends.
Born on November 16, 1969, in Cartersville, Georgia, Harold was the beloved son of the late Sherman and Loretta Harris. He was also predeceased by his grandparents, Sally and Cecil Patterson, whose values and love shaped the compassionate man Harold became.
Harold leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will forever be cherished by his devoted wife of two years, Denise Harris. Married on July 13, 2024, in Bartow County, Harold and Denise shared a beautiful life together, raising one child and three adored fur babies. Their bond was a testament to true partnership, serving as the light in each other's lives.
Harold is survived by his loving children: Barbra Turner (and husband Matthew), Christy Harris (and husband Leo), Christal Asherbranner (and husband Micheal), Ciera Manning (and husband John), Stacey Harris, Tracey Harris, and Adam Harris. He also leaves behind his cherished sisters, Lisa Lee, Sandy Harris, and Sharron Harris. Harold was a proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. His extended family includes many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles, who will miss him dearly.
Harold was a man of many talents and passions. He was employed at Mohawk in Cartersville until its closure, after which he pursued his passion for mechanics by opening his own business. Harold's dedication to his craft continued until illness no longer allowed, though his spirit of determination remained undiminished.
An active member of OneWay Church on Hall Station Road in Kingston, Georgia, Harold was a pillar of his community for over 25 years. He was also a longstanding member of Coopers Furnace in Cartersville for over 40 years. His faith and dedication to these communities were unwavering, and he touched countless lives with his kindness and generosity.
Harold's passions extended beyond his professional life. He was an avid fisherman, never missing an opening day, and his love for the outdoors was evident in his meticulously tended vegetable garden. He delighted in sharing his bountiful tomatoes with neighbors and found joy in woodworking, crafting beautiful furniture pieces for his grandchildren.
Harold will be remembered for his quick wit and warm spirit, always ready with a joke to lift the mood. His ability to make people feel welcomed and valued was a testament to his genuine kindness and generosity.
A service to honor Harold's life will be held on March 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at OneWay Ministries Church, located at 825 Hall Station Road, Kingston, Georgia. Harold's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the home health center for their compassionate love and care for him during his final days. "Y’all will always and forever be a part of our family and in our hearts," they express with deep appreciation.
