HANNAH ABEKE ROTIMI

December 8, 1945 — March 13, 2026

It is with profound sorrow and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Hannah Abeke Rotimi, who departed this world peacefully on March 13, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on December 8, 1945, in the quaint town of Ikakumo-Akoko, Abeke's life was a testament to love, dedication, and enduring service. Abeke was the cherished daughter of the late Abeke. Her early years were spent in the embrace of her extended family, as she moved from Jos to Ikakumo-Akoko and back again, each step marking her journey with resilience and determination. Her education was a mosaic of experiences, shaped by the care of her grandparents and the values instilled by her father. In the vibrant city of Kaduna, Abeke embarked on a career as a staff nurse, a role that would define her lifelong commitment to healing and care. It was here she met her soulmate, Mr. S. B. Rotimi, a distinguished pharmacist. Their union, solidified in 1966 in Bauchi, blossomed into a partnership grounded in mutual respect and a shared devotion to the medical profession. Together, they built a life of purpose and joy, graced by the presence of their children and extended family. Abeke's professional journey took her to Kano, where she pursued further training in midwifery. Her innate compassion and skill saw her rise to the esteemed position of Matron, a role in which she supported countless women through the sacred process of childbirth. Her career was not just a profession but a calling, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to be in her care. Retirement did not dim Abeke's spirit or dedication. She continued her service at the Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI) in Ilorin, offering her wisdom and support to staff and their families. Her work was a legacy of service and healing, touching lives with every act of kindness and care. Above all, Abeke was the heart of her family. Her warmth and kindness were the threads that wove her family together. A devoted wife, loving mother, and gracious sister-in-law, she was a beacon of peace and understanding. Her home, always open, became a haven for family and friends alike. She was a woman who shunned conflict, instead bringing reconciliation and calm wherever she went. Her forgiving nature and gentle spirit made her a beloved figure, easy to love and impossible to forget. Abeke is survived by her cherished family: Pastor Wole Rotimi, Kikelomo Adesina, Idowu Oluseyi Olusola, Taiye Oluwatomi Phebe Banjo, Kehinde Alli-Balogun, Abosede Oluyinka Majiyagbe, and Omolara Omobola. Each carries forward her legacy of love and service. A service to celebrate Abeke's life will be held on June 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Rhema Chapel International Churches, located at Tanker Road, Ilorin, Kwara State. We invite all who knew and loved her to join us in honoring a remarkable life. As we say goodbye to our dear Abeke, we hold her in our hearts, grateful for the love and wisdom she shared. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her legacy continue to inspire us all.
