Hallie Klasko

October 22, 1933 — June 10, 2026

Hallie Klasko, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully departed this world on June 10, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on October 22, 1933, in the quaint city of Lansing, Michigan, Hallie was the beloved daughter of Elmer and Florence Burns. She carried with her the warmth and values instilled by her parents throughout her life. Hallie was a proud alumna of Lansing Eastern High School, graduating with the class of 1951. Her passion for music led her to join the Marching Band at Michigan State University, where she shared her talents and spirit with the community. Even as her life's journey took her in different directions, Hallie never lost her love for the melodies and harmonies that music brought to her life. In 1953, Hallie married her lifelong partner and love, Cecil Klasko. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, love, and the joys of raising four wonderful children: Marian, Martin, Lawrence, and Cloyse. Hallie and Cecil's partnership was one of unwavering dedication and mutual respect, enduring until Cecil's passing in 2001. Their love story, marked by countless cherished memories, was a testament to the strength and resilience of their bond. Professionally, Hallie dedicated many years to Michigan Bell Telephone, where she skillfully balanced her clerical responsibilities with the demands of being a homemaker to her beloved children. Her career spanned 25 years, during which she was admired for her dedication, work ethic, and the warmth she brought to her workplace. Beyond her professional life, Hallie was an active member of Seabird Rescue, embodying her profound love for animals and nature. Her heart was especially fond of dogs, with a special affinity for Border Collies. Her home was often filled with the joyous barks and wagging tails of her beloved canine companions. Hallie's life was also deeply enriched by her love for sports. A devoted fan of the Detroit Lions, Tigers, and particularly the Red Wings, she shared her enthusiasm for the teams with family and friends, creating a legacy of spirited support and camaraderie. Hallie's legacy is lovingly carried forward by her children Marian, Martin, Lawrence, and Cloyse, her daughter-in-law Cara, her grandchildren Eric, Martin Casey, and Tyler, and her cherished great-granddaughter Hallie, who carries her namesake with pride and affection. In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Hallie's extraordinary life. As we remember her, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart full of love, and a spirit that touched all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Seabird Rescue or a charity of your choice in Hallie's memory. Hallie Klasko's life was a symphony of love, laughter, and enduring memories, and while she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will forever be a guiding light for her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
